The priests surrounding the Garden of Love gave my dreams and hopes a desolate embrace. Where I once sat, played and laughed now lay buried within green fungus what once had blossomed in pink rose petals. Only poets know how a blossoming beauty can vanish into rotten air. That was the image I encountered as I walked into the once inspiring Garden of Love.
